The Muse at Noon
When the beginning of a new tune comes into my head, it is the arrival of the muse. Because I am a first and foremost a dance musician, I credit Terpsichore with being the source of my musical creativity. I suspect she still lives in a Grecian time zone because she always shows up between 11pm and 1am—and I can't turn her down but instead spend several hours working with her. She showed up at 11am with this tune and it was done by noon. I like that schedule!
