Steps for Frances
Seth Tepfer and I collaborated to collaborated to create this dance to be raffled as a fundraiser for the Country Dance and Song Society (and it raised over $2,000). It was won by Atlantan Chris Carroll, who named it for her mother.

- 1-2 Fall back a double
- 3-4 Forward a double to cross over
- 5-8 Take inside hand with neighbor and gate-pivot 3 places with 8 tiny steps. End facing neighbor with 2 hands joined.*
- 1-4 Half pousette clockwise (those in 1st diagonal position advance, 2nd diagonal retire) around other couple
- 5-8 Right hands across
- 1-8 Meanwhile figure
- Those in 1st diagonal position: (1-4) hole in the wall cross, (5-6) set, (7-8) turn single right WHILE
- Those in 2nd diagonal position: (1-2) set, (3-6) back to back, (7-8) turn single right
- 1-4 Left hands across
- 5-8 partner two-hand turn counter-clockwise one and a half times to end close, improper
- Gate-Pivot: The people currently in the 1st diagonal positions are a post and rotate 180 degrees while gating neighbor 270 degrees or 3 places. 2nd diagonals end diagonally opposite to where they started.
