Laurie's Sister in F
I wrote this gentle and motion-filled march to go with Susan Conger's Laurie in F (found in The Portland Collection, volume 3). Susan says, "I wrote this tune for my student Laurie Stamell when she was learning to play in the key of F (a key some fiddlers prefer to avoid altogether). ... It's turned out to be a delight to play for dancers." The two of these together make a favorite dance of mine (often ended with a more upbeat F tune).
