Conditions of Slup
Taking a walk after Cis Hinkle's "orphans' Thanksgiving" one year, we passed a sign that said "Conditions of Slup". It wasn't until many years later, after becoming a bit of an activist in our town, that I learned that SLUP stands for Special Land Use Permit, and the conditions are how a council reduces the amount of pillages that the developer is allowed.
